Fulham vs Crystal Palace preview
Fulham have had an extra 24 hours and no travelling to do this week, which may help to give them an edge over Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace.
Marco Silva’s men made the short hop to Tottenham last Saturday and were rewarded with a well-deserved 2-1 success.
Buoyed by that, they duly gave Manchester City a run for their money at Craven Cottage on Tuesday, recovering from a 5-1 deficit to lose 5-4.
Palace, meanwhile, have had a brutal ten days which started last Thursday night in Strasbourg in the Conference League. They were defeated 2-1 in France, a scoreline that was repeated three days later at home to Manchester United.
They then had a thankless trip to Burnley on Wednesday night and had to battle hard for a 1-0 success against the relegation-threatened Clarets.
Glasner sticks to a tight-knit group and this schedule will make big demands of them all. To that end, Fulham have to fancy their chances on Sunday.
Their home record this season is strong, with four wins and a draw from seven games, and their only losses at the Cottage have come against title-chasing pair Arsenal and City.
Palace don’t fear playing away from Selhurst Park and boast an identical record of four wins, one draw and two defeats on the road.
They have won five of their last eight in all competitions but continue the juggling theme this week with a trip to Shelbourne in Europe before welcoming Manchester City to south London next Sunday.
These are demanding requirements of any team and it’s perhaps no wonder that Palace’s games produce the fewest goals of any team in the Premier League.
They keep their share of clean sheets because their almost inseparable back five are class acts, but they rely far too heavily on Jean-Philippe Mateta for joy up front and he is the definition of hit-and-miss.
It should be low-scoring, which brings the draw into play, but Fulham, who are that bit fresher, get the nod.
Henderson set for busy afternoon at Cottage
Dean Henderson was not for passing at Turf Moor in midweek and the Palace keeper may be in for another busy afternoon at the Cottage.
Henderson has made at least three saves in three of his last four league games and it would be a surprise if he wasn’t worked hard by an eager Fulham.
Sam’s the man to pan Oliver’s army
Fulham’s Samuel Chukwueze comes into this game on a high after coming off the bench to score twice against City and he looked a real handful.
Marco Silva will surely start this prodigious talent on Sunday and he should prove a real handful for Palace’s back five.

Over 9.5 corners
The corner count tends to go to double figures at Craven Cottage – the average is 11.4 – so expect more of the same when Palace head across the capital.
Jean-Philippe Mateta to have a shot on target
He may not be the most consistent but seven-goal Jean-Philippe Mateta finds great positions in the box and will surely have one effort on target.
Fulham to win either half
Fulham have won either half in five of their last six in all competitions and at the very least can keep that sequence going.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace team news and predicted line-ups

Marco Silva is still missing left-back Antonee Robinson and striker Rodrigo Muniz. Samuel Chukwueze has surely done enough for a start after starring off the bench in Tuesday’s 5-4 loss to Manchester City.

Subs: Castagne, Cuenca, Kevin, Wilson, Smith-Rowe, Cairney, Traore.

Full-back Borno Sosa could be available after a lay-off leaving Cheikh Doucoure and Ismaila Sarr as Palace’s main absentees.
Predicted line-up (3-4-2-1): Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Nketiah, Pino; Mateta.
Subs: Clyne, Sosa, Lerma, Canvot, Kamada, Devenny, Esse.
