Eagles Should Target Ravens WR as Dallas Goedert Replacement

The Philadelphia Eagles have some questions to answer over the next year or so, with one of the biggest involving star tight end Dallas Goedert.

While Goedert might not be what he once was, I still view him as a very good player in the NFL.

It’s evident that teams around the league would want him if the Eagles are content with letting him walk. Ultimately, however, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the Eagles move on from some offensive players due to how poorly they’ve played on that side of the football.

If the Eagles decide to move on from Goedert, they will obviously need to find his replacement.

After the Baltimore Ravens signed Mark Andrews to a three-year, $39 million contract, which came as somewhat of a surprise, some believe there’s an avenue for the Eagles to go out and get Isaiah Likely, the Ravens’ backup tight end.

“The Philadelphia Eagles are facing a difficult decision with tight end Dallas Goedert slated to hit free agency. This decision is further complicated by the Baltimore Ravens’ signing of Mark Andrews to a three-year, $39 million contract.

“It is an interesting observation that makes more sense the longer you consider the potential signing. Isaiah Likely is a walking mismatch who is heading towards free agency at the end of the season. Baltimore opting to keep both Likely and Andrew doesn’t seem incredibly probable. This sets up an opportunity for Philly to add the perfect weapon alongside their current star receivers,” Nick Halden wrote.

It’s also interesting that Likely doesn’t get used as much in the Ravens’ offense.

There was a point over the past year and a half where he looked like one of the brightest young tight ends in football.

However, considering Andrews has been in Baltimore for quite some time, and with an offense that isn’t overly pass-heavy with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, it isn’t too surprising that Likely doesn’t get as many targets as he probably should.

If the Eagles can land him, he’s a freak athlete and would do a lot of good for this offense.
