Mark Sanchez, the former NFL quarterback accused of attacking a delivery truck driver earlier this year, posted a message of gratitude on social media over the weekend.
“This time of year always makes me look around and appreciate what matters, but this one hits different,” the former Fox Sports color commentator said on Instagram on Saturday. “I’m just grateful — to wake up, to be home, and to be able to wrap my arms around my wife and kids.”
He added, “Thank you to the people who kept me standing and gave my family opportunities to share moments like these. From our family to yours, we wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season.”
The message of gratitude, which was paired with photos of his family, came about two months after prosecutors in Marion County, Indiana, brought against Sanchez a felony charge of battery involving serious bodily injury.

“The allegations involve a 38-year-old man becoming involved in an altercation with a 69-year-old man who sustained significant and very serious injuries” over a dispute about parking, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said during a press conference at the time.
Prosecutors alleged that Sanchez attacked the older man, Perry Tole, during a confrontation over parking.
Police said that Tole pepper-sprayed and then stabbed Sanchez in self defense. Sanchez, severely injured, then allegedly fled the scene before being arrested.
Sanchez was admitted to the hospital for his injuries. He was booked into Marion County Jail after he was discharged in October, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
A judge in late November granted Sanchez’s motion for continuance and rescheduled both the final pretrial hearing and trial date to March 2026. Tole has also filed a civil suit against Sanchez and the Fox Corporation over the incident.
