Timothée Chalamet already has four Globe nominations to his name – for Wonka, A Complete Unknown, Beautiful Boy and Call Me By Your Name – but he has never previously won.

That could change this year, as his latest film Marty Supreme is one of the most critically acclaimed and Oscar-tipped films of the season.

The film, which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, sees Chalamet portray table tennis player Marty Mauser, as he tries to make his name in the 1950s by pursuing a dream few people around him respect.

Chalamet has been open about the fact that he eventually wants to be considered “one of the greats” of Hollywood – he said as much during his Screen Actors Guild Awards acceptance speech in February.

The 29-year-old is already well on his way, but a Globe nomination and win would give him a big boost of momentum in this year’s awards season, and he might have a chance of scoring his first ever Oscar come March.
