Person of interest in shooting of Jets CB Kris Boyd caught in Buffalo: sources

A person of interest in the shooting of Jets cornerback Kris Boyd outside a Midtown eatery was busted in Buffalo Monday morning, law enforcement sources said.

The 20-year-old man is on his way back to the Big Apple to face charges in the pre-dawn Nov. 16 violence that left 29-year-old Boyd shot in the stomach in front of Asian fusion restaurant Sei Less on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue, authorities/sources said.

Boyd was out on the town with Gang Green linebacker Jamien Sherwood and wide receiver Irvin Charles when a group of ruffians started mocking their fancy duds, according to law enforcement sources.

As the athletes started to head out — apparently because they didn’t like the “vibe” inside the hotspot that often draws a celebrity crowd — a scuffle broke out on the street and shots were fired, sources said.

One slug struck Boyd in the stomach – and he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition, cops said.

No one in Boyd’s group was armed, the sources said.

Wild video from the scene posted on X by Crime_In_ NYC shows a mob of people in the street throwing punches when two shots ring out, sending everyone scrambling for cover.

The person of interest has four prior busts on his record – but most are sealed, including raps from earlier this year for unlawful possession of personal identification and criminal possession of a controlled substance, sources said.

He was arrested as an adolescent offender in 2024 for reckless endangerment, and had a sealed juvenile arrest in 2018 for robbery, the sources said.
