The tight end suffered a knee injury in the first of these three games, so one would have to assume that the ailment has been limiting him. Plus, Gadsden’s usage hasn’t been overly encouraging in these last three games, with him handling a 16.7% target share while running a route on 70% of his team’s dropbacks.
Now, Gadsden meets an Eagles defense that has been the top unit in the NFL at defending tight ends this season. To the position, Philadelphia is allowing the fewest receiving yards (421) and the lowest completion percentage in the league (61.2%).
In 12 games this season, the Eagles have only allowed three tight ends to surpass 38.5 receiving yards and Gadsden should stay under this number Monday night, especially when you consider that his quarterback in Justin Herbert may not be as efficient as usual, given the quarterback just had surgery on his non-throwing hand a week ago.
