Jon Hamm’s club dancing scene from the US TV show Your Friends and Neighbours on Apple TV+ has turned into a meme and is currently going viral across social media.

Despite the show being released back in April 2025, a clip of Jon Hamm’s character, Andrew ‘Coop’ Cooper, dancing in a nightclub and lost in music has experienced a resurgence on social media since the end of November.

The show follows a wealthy financier, played by Hamm, who turns to robbing his neighbours after a messy divorce and mounting bills risk jeopardising his lavish lifestyle and numerous commitments.

The meme revolves around people reflecting on being tired in the morning before work, then harking back to the mid-00s, when they were dancing in a nightclub mere hours before their job, and they had way more energy.

Jon Hamm dancing scene song: What is the track name?

Interestingly, in the viral video, the song used is ‘Turn the Lights Off’ by Kato feat. Jon ’, which was released back in 2010, and likely helps link it to the younger years of exhausted Millennials and Gen X social media users who are sharing the clip.

The track originates from a Danish DJ, Kato, from his album Discolized. Although the track was mainly a hit across Denmark, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine.

On November 7 2025, a newer version of the song was released, still called ‘Turn the Lights Off’ with Justė, Jaxsyle, and Jon.

However, in the actual TV show, Your Friends and Neighbours, they use ‘Sentient System’ by Joseph William Morgan, which was released in 2023, and was closer to when the show was originally filmed, in April 2024.

But given all the viral phenomena, it feels inevitable that ‘Turn the Lights Off’ will have to pop up in the new season, given what a viral hit it’s become.

Meanwhile, Hamm will undoubtedly be recreating the clip when he starts doing the rounds again for US chat show appearances.
