Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor’s Daughter Ella Details Struggles With Anxiety and Depression

“You have all these hats that you’re trying to balance, you know?” Quin told his dad in his Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost documentary in October, per Us Weekly. “Being a director, an actor, a producer, a writer. But also just, like, a father. And sometimes, I felt that would come last to these other things.”

The Tropic Thunder actor also recalled that Ella once told him, “I literally can’t ever remember you being around when I was growing up.”

Ben was stunned by his kids’ confessions at the time, as he believed that he had given them a better childhood than his parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, did. 

“I thought I was pulling it off,” he admitted in the documentary. “I was flying home on weekends and finding special places for the kids to play when they would visit the set. But in reality, just hearing them talk about it, for them, it was the same thing I was going through as a kid, and I just couldn’t see that at all at the time.”
