Fox Nation will be bringing in actor Zachary Levi to host a new four-part series called “David: King of Israel.” The new docuseries, which tells the biblical story of David, will add to the expanding faith-based content for the streaming service that is owned by Fox News. The series will be told in weekly episodes, with the “Not Without Hope” star serving as the narrator, and is expected to release during the first quarter of 2026.

Levi will narrate “David: King of Israel” on Fox Nation

“Zachary Levi was a natural fit for this series,” said Lauren Petterson, president of Fox Nation, in a statement. “His sincerity and connection to the material allow King David’s story to come alive in a way that feels relevant to today’s viewers.”

She continued, “Highlighting faith, redemption, and extraordinary purpose, we’re honored to bring this story to Fox Nation with Zachary at the helm.”

The “David: King of Israel” series will follow the shepherd’s story through reenactments coupled with expert commentary as he ascends to become the country’s ruler. Levi said in a statement that David’s storyline is very much a “relatable” one.

“Aside from the account of Christ, the story of David is the most powerful in all of scripture,” he explained. “In fact, one might argue that it’s even more powerful in some ways, given that David was fully human, and therefore flawed, like us, making his journey more relatable to our own.”

Levi, who is known for his roles as the DC superhero Shazam and Chuck Bartowski in the NBC comedy “Chuck,” has a personal connection to the material too. “It’s a story I’ve wanted to be a part of telling ever since I was a child,” he said, “so it was such a blessing being a part of this production.”

The actor also shared his thoughts in an exclusive ComingSoon interview on his upcoming movie “Not Without Hope” that will release in theaters on December 12.
