The Best Video Game Adaptation in Years Has Returned to the Streaming Charts Ahead of Season 2

We are now less than a month away from a brand-new year, with 2026 promising to be unforgettable when it comes to film and TV. With the likes of the star-studded return to the MCU in Avengers: Doomsday and Christopher Nolan’s hotly anticipated epic, The Odyssey, sure to dominate theaters, and with returns to The Pitt and Bridgerton among the small-screen highlights, fans can be forgiven for already looking ahead to next year. However, look to 2026 at your own peril, with one of the most exciting new TV arrivals still to come in 2025.

One of the best video game adaptations of all time is back on Prime Video in just nine days, with Fallout Season 2 premiering on December 17, 2026. Ahead of Season 2’s debut, fans are unsurprisingly reminding themselves of the beautifully crafted chaos to have come before from Lucy (Ella Purnell) and the Ghoul (Walton Goggins), with Fallout officially becoming one of the ten most-streamed titles on Prime Video in the U.S., at the time of writing. Fallout is fifth overall in the Prime Video streaming ranks, a list currently topped by Michelle Pfeiffer‘s family holiday comedy, Oh. What. Fun. For anyone yet to catch Fallout, here’s a look at the show’s synopsis:

“Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

‘Fallout’ Was an Enormous Hit

Reaching over 65 million viewers globally in its first 16 days and becoming Prime Video’s second-biggest debut ever, there’s no questioning the instant success of Fallout. Sure to return to the top of the streaming charts on Prime when Season 2 debuts, and a worthy challenger to the current all-conquering Stranger Things across the board, Fallout deserves every ounce of its apocalyptic-sized success. This isn’t just in the eyes of fans, but also critics, with the series boasting a huge 93% score on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. “There’s really nothing like Fallout on television right now, and that’s ultimately a good thing,” wrote Therese Lacson in her review of the first season for Collider.

You can stream Fallout Season 1 now on Prime Video. Make sure to stay tuned to Collider for more streaming stories.
