It’s going to be another busy week for new Netflix arrivals, with perhaps Netflix’s biggest movie of the year dropping at the tail end of the week and plenty else to look forward to in the interim. Below, we’ll take a deep dive into the current list of what’s scheduled to drop on Netflix in the US from December 8th through to Sunday, December 14th.
Just some quick housekeeping before diving in. If you missed last week’s new arrivals, you missed a lot to say the least. Most Anticipated New Releases This Week
The West Wing
Coming to Netflix: Tuesday
As we first reported, The West Wing is returning to the Netflix US library, bringing one of television’s most beloved political dramas home to a platform where it once thrived. Aaron Sorkin’s brisk, idealistic series about the inner workings of the Bartlet administration remains a benchmark for prestige network TV, blending rapid-fire dialogue with ensemble storytelling that still resonates today. Its return gives Netflix subscribers a chance to revisit, or discover anew, a show that helped define a generation of smart, character-driven drama while setting the tone for the modern political series that followed.
Man Vs. Baby

Although the Christmas rom-coms will be to many people’s liking, my most anticipated Christmas release is the return of Rowan Atkinson in the same role he played in Man vs. Bee. For those that missed that, it sees the legendary British comedy actor play the role of a housekeeper, with his nemesis in the last series being a bee. The stakes are higher in this follow-up, with him not only having to look after a lavish penthouse in central London but also a baby he’s been saddled with.
We’ll have a full review coming up upon release, but it’s safe to say that if you loved Trevor facing off a bee, you’ll certainly enjoy this entry.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025)
Coming to Netflix: Friday
While we still have Goodbye June releasing on Netflix over the Christmas period, there’s little doubt that the third movie in the Knives Out franchise is one of the biggest movies of the month and perhaps the year and for good reason. Glass Onion released just a few years back and director and writer Rian Johnson wasted no time in getting the third instalment to our screens which sees a new host of characters all potential suspects when a senior priest gets murdered in his own church.
The reviews are already out in force for this one, given that it’s now been playing in select theaters for the past couple of weeks and additionally premiering across the film festival circuit, which means we already know it’s one of the highest-rated movies of the year. Our review was equally good, with a four-star rating, praising the writing, cast, and setting of the murder mystery.
