Sadie Sink Reportedly Out of Rapunzel Race for Disney’s Tangled Live-Action

Reports surrounding Disney’s pursuit of the live-action Rapunzel have gotten more convoluted, as Sadie Sink, who was previously speculated as the frontrunner to nab the role, is reportedly out of the race. The scoop comes from Jeff Sneider, who was recently asked about who is currently the favorite to headline the live-action Tangled remake (via The DisInsider).
Contrary to previous reports, which positioned Sink as the top choice to land the gig after Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande were rumored to be out of the contention, the scooper didn’t mention the actor at all in his latest claims. On the flip side, he did name-drop two potential actors that were apparently being eyed for the role, which includes The Regretting You star McKenna Grace.
The Regretting You Star is Reportedly the New Frontrunner for Rapunzel
A previous report from Nexus Point News named Sink and three other actors, including Regretting You star McKenna Grace, Wednesday star Emma Myers, and 1883 star Isabel May, as the lead contenders for Rapunzel.
While most were absent from Sneider’s claims, he did allege that Grace is the current favorite for the role, and added that Freya Skye, who recently appeared in Zombies 4, was also being considered to headline the remake.
I do, I have heard that Zombies 4 actress Freya Skye is amongst the actresses being considered for the role and Disney does like her. That said, McKenna Grace is still the favorite amongst insiders.
Then again, following Disney’s total silence on the subject, take everything with a pinch of salt, as rumors surrounding the potential casting choices for the movie have been all over the place in recent weeks. With the movie expected to commence production next year in Spain, Disney will hopefully unveil the definitive choice for the role sooner rather than later.
