What New Games Will Be Revealed at The Game Awards?

It’s the biggest night in video games on Thursday, and the world will be watching to see who wins the industry’s top awards and what new games will be unveiled in exclusive premieres.

The biggest story heading into 2025’s awards night is the game teased by host and creator of the show, Geoff Keighley.

In the viral post that he put up at the end of November, he shows off a screenshot of a statue depicting skeleton warriors, tigers, and other creatures. The Game Awards official account then replied to Keighley’s tease, showing the location of the Mojave Desert.

The statue, which originally looked like it was from a game, was a real-life attraction found in the desert. The demonic pillar has sparked debate and rumors online for the past two weeks as we head into The Game Awards, with several leakers and experts throwing out their theories.

Internet sleuths found European trademarks that resembled imagery on the statue, all of which link back to Larian Studios, the creators of “Baldur’s Gate 3,” which won Best Game at the award show in 2023.

Aside from Larian showing off their new game, fans are hoping to see reveals for the forever-rumored “Half-Life 3.” Other titles that fans could be begging to be shown off are “Final Fantasy 7 Part 3,” “Metroid Prime 5,” and “Persona 6.”

For fans of the “Grand Theft Auto” franchise, desperately awaiting news on the delayed sixth iteration of the mainline game, don’t get your hopes up too high for Thursday. Rockstar is not expected to announce anything at the awards show in Los Angeles.
