Kobe Bryant Autographed Lakers Upper Deck Card Sells for $1.2M at Auction

An autographed Upper Deck trading card from Kobe Bryant’s 2003-04 season with the Los Angeles Lakers made history when it sold for $1.22 million, including buyer’s premium, at Goldin Auction last Saturday.
That’s the third-highest price ever fetched by a solo Bryant card in a public sale, according to ESPN’s Dan Hajducky.
The card from the 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Emblems of Endorsements card features two game-used jersey patches, as well as Bryant’s signature in blue ink.
The collectible was graded a Near Mint-Mint 8 by PSA and marked as card eight out of 15, according to Goldin.
The sale received 52 bids, including a winning bid of $1 million, before the sale closed Saturday.
Bryant is also featured on the most expensive trading card ever to be sold at public auction. A dual-autograph 2007-08 Upper Deck Logoman featuring Bryant and Michael Jordan sold for a record $12.932 million at Heritage Auctions in August.
