Tucker Carlson calls Israeli finance minister the ‘enemy’ of civilization on Theo Von show

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson went on popular podcast host Theo Von’s show on Tuesday where he called Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich the “enemy” of civilization.

During the show, Von played a video of Smotrich giving a speech in Hebrew with English subtitles at the bottom.

Von read the subtitles as Smotrich was speaking in the video.

“The truth is until the last hostage returns, we shouldn’t even give water to the Gaza Strip,” Von read the subtitles.

“For a year in a half, we have been beating the hell out of Hamas. We’re breaking Gaza apart, leaving it as a pile of rubble, with total unprecedented destruction in the world. And the world still hasn’t stopped us.”

Tucker then weighed in saying it was immoral to kill people just because of how they were born and that it was un-Christian.

“What separates the savage from the civilized person is the civilized person will never accept the murder of innocents,” Carlson said. “You didn’t do anything wrong. We can’t kill you. It’s simple.”

He went on to say that as a result of the war in Gaza, innocent people are being killed and expelled from their home due to their bloodline.

“The main lesson of World War IIthe reason we fought against fascism was we reject that,” Carlson said.

“We do not kill people or expel them or put them on trains or put them in internment camps or move them to ‘third countries’ as Smotrich just said because of how they were born because we don’t accept that because we are Christians.”

He concluded with saying people are individuals and then pointed at Smotrich and said, “that’s the enemy of civilization right there.”

Carlson has been one of the few Republicans critical of Israel’s military action in Gaza, especially with the massive amount of civilian deaths. Other GOP critics include Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and Thomas Massie, R-Ky.

The war in Gaza began on Oct. 7, 2023 when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel and killed 1,200 people and took many hostage. Hundreds of thousands of civilians in Gaza have been killed since the war began, with many of them being children.

Israel and Hamas have entered into the first part of the ceasefire deal and it was reported earlier this week that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they are expected to”very shortly” to move into the second phase of the ceasefire.
