New Netflix Anime Cracks Top 5

The latest season of Netflix anime series Record of Ragnarok is making a run for the top of the streaming charts just days after its streaming premiere.
Per Flix Patrol, Record of Ragnarok has officially taken the number four spot on the list of the top 10 streaming series on Netflix worldwide. This comes barely a week after Record of Ragnarok Season 3 premiered on the platform. Currently, Record of Ragnarok sits just behind The Abandons in the number three spot, while Stranger Things and Sean Combs: The Reckoning continue to dominate the chart from the number one and number two spots, respectively.

Based on the ongoing manga series of the same name by writers Shinya Umemura and Takumi Fukui and artist Azychika, the Record of Ragnarok anime revolves around a grand tournament known as Ragnarök, which serves as humanity’s final chance to prove their worthiness before suffering divine judgment at the hands of the Gods’ Council, who initially decided to smite the world and start over.
Representing humankind in this grand tournament are the Einherjar — capable and cunning figures who are granted a Valkyrie of their own, which are transformed into powerful weapons known as Volund. Should any given Einherjar lose their life over the course of Ragnarök, so too will the Valkyrie assigned to serve alongside them.
While the Record of Ragnarok manga has released 26 volumes so far, the anime series has been playing a fast game of catch-up across its three seasons so far. In just 42 episodes, Record of Ragnarok has adapted the first nine rounds of the 12 that comprise Ragnarök in total. Although another season of the series has yet to be announced, fans have already set their sights on seeing things come to a close in Season 4, assuming it comes to fruition.
Considering how much acclaim has been heaped upon Record of Ragnarok, it may not be long before Season 4 is officially announced. Despite not having enough verified user-submitted reviews to garner an official “Popcornmeter” rating via review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the reviews it has received largely consist of high praise for Record of Ragnarok Season 3. For comparison, Season 1 currently holds a 67% “Popcornmeter” score as averaged across more than 100 reviews, while Season 2 holds a 76% approval rating as averaged across more than 50 reviews.
All three seasons of Record of Ragnarok are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
