Lancashire’s Spud Bros team up with Line of Duty star for festive single and new spud

Lancashire’s Spud Bros have said they “want to spread as much joy as possible” after launching a Christmas campaign with a Line of Duty star.
The renowned potato purveyors – who have amassed more than four million followers on Tik Tok – will work with Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir.
Within the campaign, a Christmas single will be released as well as a festive spud, called the SpudX, with both raising funds for the charity supporting people living with dementia.
The single, Brighter than the Night, was executively produced by Jayne Collins and Grammy and Brit Award winner Nick Patrick.
It was written by Antony Llewellyn and performed by SpudBros’ Huw Roberts and mixed and mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
The official release will include a full animated music video, created with award-winning Preston-born animator Chris Tootell of Drawing Board, whose 25-year career includes Oscar and BAFTA-winning projects with Tim Burton, Henry Selick and Guillermo Del Toro.
Jacob, who currently lives in Darwen, and Harley Nelson, founders of the SpudBros said: “We still can’t believe how far this has come from two lads in a tram in Preston.
“Working with Our Dementia Choir and Vicky McClure has been incredible, and SpudX really sums up who we are as a brand: good food, good vibes and giving back. This Christmas, we just want to spread as much joy as possible.”

The idea for the campaign came after a viral video between the Spud Bros and an elderly couple.
Additionally, the partnership with Vicky’s Dementia Choir is personal to the pair, whose grandmother lives with the illness.
Vicky said: “I’m so excited SpudBros have teamed up with Our Dementia Choir, not only is the song so heartfelt and Christmassy but everyone involved is on the same mission to help people live well with dementia, through music and the best spuds in town! Please support and Merry Christmas!”
Brighter than the Night will be available for pre-order on December 12, with all funds raised donated to Our Dementia Choir.
