An appeal has been made by hit BBC show DIY SOS after items were stolen from the house they are renovating in Llanberis. The team are currently in the Eryri village for their latest life-changing project.

The team had previously made an appeal for trades people and volunteers to chip to support Nick Knowles and the team help a local family.

This weekend is the big push to get the redevelopment done with a programme on the transformation due to be released at a later date.

But they’ve been hit overnight after thieves struck.

Noah McIntyre, who is part of the production team, posted on social media: “Unfortunately we’ve had some items stolen up at the house overnight. We have had mixers, wheelbarrows and lights taken.

“This is obviously very frustrating and has held up the start of the build this morning. If you see anything being sold online or in person, contact noah.mcintyre@southshore.uk. Sign up for the North Wales Live newsletter sent twice daily to your inbox

“Thank you to all those that have been on site so far. The weather is proving tricky but we’ve made some great progress. If you know any carpenters, plasterers or electricians, please tell them to pop down to site to help out for a big weekend push!”

The news has been met with anger locally.

One person said: “Wow, that is low. I didn’t think that would happen here.” Another added: “Absolute disgrace.”

The production team has been contacted for comment.
