Celebrity Gogglebox viewers in tears at emotional special episode

Celebrity Gogglebox viewers found themselves in floods of tears during a special episode of the Channel 4 programme. Famous faces joined some of the nation’s favourite armchair critics for a Stand Up To Cancer special. They gave their verdict on some of the best television while supporting the nationwide fundraising initiative.
As well as watching various programmes and festive specials, including Megan Markle’s “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration” and James May’s “Shed Load of Ideas”, the group of armchair critics were also shown real people who had been affected by cancer. These segments had a real impact on viewers, with many in tears.
One clip told Becca’s story who died after battling cancer at the age of 30. After receiving chemotherapy, it was revealed that the cancer had spread to her bowel and there was no other form of treatment available.
Becca’s parents retold the heartbreaking story. They were in tears as they shared they did everything they could to look after their daughter during her final days. But they revealed Becca had lost her battle within just a seven-month timeline.

The celebrities on-screen were in floods of tears after learning the heartbreaking truth, while Gogglebox viewers had similar reactions at home to the powerful montage.
Taking to social media during the episode, one fan said: “Jesus Christ this is heartbreaking.” A second added: “These stories are so tough to watch but important.”
A third also wrote: “Every year it gets me” while another said: “Rest in Peace Becca.” A fifth said: “Life is so unfair sometimes…that was tough to watch.”
Further in the episode, viewers watched Matthew’s story, who died just six weeks after his wedding day.
Gogglebox viewers were heartbroken as they tried to come to terms with each devastating cancer story.
The Stand Up to Cancer special episode featured a variety of familiar faces, including Pete and Sophie, Jenny and Lee and the Malone family.
Stars taking part in this celebrity special included Joe Marler and his Celebrity Traitors co-star Nick Mohammed. Others included Kieran Culkin, Josh Hartnett and David Tennant.
Gogglebox’s emotional message echoed King Charles’ powerful words. The King addressed the nation earlier as part of the Stand Up to Cancer campaign to raise awareness of cancer treatment.
The monarch’s statement focused on the the vital role of cancer screening programmes in facilitating early detection.
The pre-recorded video message aired on Channel 4 at 8pm prior to a powerful documentary hosted by Davina McCall. “Cancer Clinic Live” aired live from Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
It explored the UK’s screening services and the crucial role they play in saving lives.
The programme was followed by Celebrity Gogglebox at 9:10pm on Channel 4.
