TEAM NEWS: Squad confirmed for Canberra trip

Melbourne City has confirmed our squad for Saturday afternoon’s trip to the nation’s capital, where Michael Matricciani’s side will face an in-form Canberra United outfit.

Canberra enter the weekend sitting first on the ladder after a strong start across their opening six fixtures, while City – having played only three league games due to our recent AFC Women’s Champions League commitments – remains unbeaten and will have the chance to climb quickly as our backlog of fixtures evens out.

Despite the gap in matches played, City’s form still stacks up strongly, and the squad travels to Canberra with confidence following last weekend’s gritty return to domestic action.

Up against a stubborn Wellington Phoenix, City had to show patience before eventually finding a late winner to keep our strong start intact. Taylor Otto’s deft flick-on from a corner created the chance, and captain Rebekah Stott delivered once again, reacting sharply to head home the decisive goal and secure all three points.

Matricciani has now named his extended squad for the trip, and there are no omissions from last weekend’s group at this stage. Young duo Izabella Rako and Kaya Jugovic have both been promoted after strong weeks on the training pitch, providing further depth and flexibility for what will be a demanding away test.

With only Bryleeh Henry unavailable as she continues her recovery from a back injury, City will be looking to continue our unbeaten run across all competitions.
