“Great potential” – Star ready to welcome Arsenal player if he shows ‘love for shirt’

Cagliari’s Yerry Mina has heaped praise on Arsenal’s Cristhian Mosquera as a player with great potential.

AS in Colombia spoke to the 31-year-old Colombia international about the possibility of the Arsenal summer signing representing the national team.

Mosquera was born in Spain and has represented them at various youth levels. The 21-year-old is yet to receive a call up from La Roja manager Luis de la Fuente for the senior team.

The Gunners defender is also eligible to represent Colombia. On October 10th, he said the door remains open for him to represent Spain or La Tricolor. He again reiterated his stance last month.

On November 27th, Cadena Ser stated Colombia could give him an opportunity to change his allegiance immediately.

The Arsenal man is yet to make the final decision between Spain and the South American nation. Meanwhile, Mina is ready to welcome Mosquera if he were to decide to play for Colombia.

“He’s a player with great potential and dual cultural heritage. If he feels the call, he’ll be welcome. The important thing is that he has commitment, humility and love for the shirt,” he said.

Mosquera arrived at the Emirates from Valencia in July and has played 16 matches so far for Arsenal. Earlier this month, he suffered an injury, and Mikel Arteta has confirmed he’ll be out for a few weeks.
