No. 1 UConn, No. 16 USC to Face Off Saturday in L.A.

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women’s basketball team (9-0) faces No. 16 USC (7-2) Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT in the Galen Center in Los Angeles. The game will air on FOX and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97-9).

Sophomore Sarah Strong scored 20 points as UConn routed DePaul, 102-32, on Sunday in Gampel Pavilion. Graduate student Azzi Fudd and sophomore Kayleigh Heckel each scored 16 points while redshirt sophomore Jana El Alfy had 11.

UConn had 48 bench points and 52 points off turnovers vs. the Blue Demons.

UConn is 4-1 all-time vs. USC. The teams last met in the 2025 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. No. 2-seed UConn won vs. No. 1-seed USC, 78-64. This is UConn’s first trip to Southern California since 2003.

The Trojans are the third ranked opponent and the third Big Ten opponent of the season for the Huskies.

USC is coming off a 59-50 win over No. 21 Washington last Sunday. This season, Jazzy Davidson is leading the Trojans with 16.7 points per game. Four players are averaging double figure points. Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb is in her fifth season at USC.

After Saturday’s game, UConn will return to PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford to host Marquette (6-3) next Wednesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available here.
