Thunder vs Spurs predictions, picks
Justin Martinez: OKC 117, San Antonio 108
San Antonio just earned an impressive win over a healthy Los Angeles Lakers team despite being without Victor Wembanyama. And with the star big man set to return Saturday, the Spurs will be even more of a handful. But so will the Thunder. Its elite perimeter defenders will make life difficult for De’Aaron Fox and company, and it has two 7-footers in Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein to throw at Wembanyama. OKC also has one of the league’s most unguardable scorers in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. And it ranks fifth in the NBA in team 3-point percentage (38.1%), which is a good sign when facing a San Antonio team that protects the paint well. I’m picking OKC to advance to the NBA Cup’s title game.
