New details are being revealed about what led to influencer Alix Earle and NFL player Braxton Berrios’ split.
“Distance was a huge factor,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “She really wants to spend more time in LA, while Braxton lives in Florida.”
The insider explains that the more time Earle, 24, and Berrios, 30, spent apart, “the more they realized they were growing apart as a couple.”
“Alix is now focused on her new chapter,” the source says. “She’s been in great spirits and having fun with her friends.”
Reps for Earle and Berrios could not be reached for comment
Multiple sources exclusively confirmed to Us on Saturday, December 6, that Earle and Berrios separated after two years together. (Reps for Earle could not be reached for comment at the time.)
“Majority of their relationship was long-distance and it was hard for them to navigate,” a separate insider told Us at the time. “They mutually agreed on the split.”
Hours after news broke of the split, an alleged screenshot from the influencer’s close friends Instagram Story went viral — where New York Giants rookie Jaxson Dart slid into her DMs and wrote, “Hey u single now?” In the screenshot, text allegedly written by Earle read, “It hasn’t even been 12 hours.”
While Earle has yet to directly address her split from Berrios, she did take to her TikTok the following day to address the speculation regarding Dart, 22.
“What is this fake photoshopped DM u guys are posting,” Earle wrote on Sunday, December 7. “1. That never happened. 2. That wouldn’t be on my story.”
Earle was first spotted with Berrios in May 2023 after he called it quits with Sophia Culpo, who accused him of cheating. Berrios denied the allegations while Earle alleged on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast later that year that Berrios and Culpo, 28, “were not together” when she began seeing the NFL player.
Through the years, Earle has been spotted at several NFL games cheering on Berrios — while he was notably absent from DWTS due to his football commitments. Berrios, however, did support Earle from afar.

“Braxton has been so supportive, but I didn’t show him the routine or anything,” Earle told Us after the premiere in September. “I wanted to keep it a surprise. I told him he was gonna have to tune in and see. I haven’t gotten the chance to talk to him yet just because we’ve been running around after the show. I’m excited to call him and see what he thinks.”

Ahead of the season 34 finale, Berrios asked his followers to send votes for Earle. “Finale tonight!! So proud of you and the way you’ve worked for this the last 3 months,” he wrote via his Instagram Story. “Go have fun and bring that Mirrorball Trophy home!”
Berrios also went on to send a pre-recorded message during the finale broadcast.
“I’ve watched you pour everything into this since the moment it has started, and I think it shows,” he said. “Good luck. Have fun, babe.”
