From the article:
“Besides the fight, Jack’s extended run in the sport as a three-division champion (he was a secondary WBA light heavyweight titlist) pressing to go out as an undisputed cruiserweight champion with the likes of Jai Opetaia, Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez and David Benavidez before him is also something to behold.”
Technically, he was in fact briefly the full WBA light heavyweight titlist.
Andre Ward had the Super belt, Badou Jack had the Regular belt, and Dmitry Bivol had the interim belt.
Then Andre Ward retired.
Badou Jack was elevated to primary champion and ordered to face Dmitry Bivol to consolidate the titles.
However, Jack instead vacated two days later and accepted a shot at WBC and lineal light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson.
Thus, Dmitry Bivol was promoted from tertiary champion to secondary champion to primary champion in the span of two days.
But Jack did, indeed, hold the full WBA light heavyweight title.
