People told to take shelter as police respond to Bondi Beach incident

Police are responding to “a developing incident” at Bondi Beach and urging the public to avoid the area.

“Anyone at the scene should take shelter,” NSW Police said.

“Police are on scene and more information will be provided when it comes to hand.”

The alert came just before 7pm.

People in the area report hearing shots and a massive response from emergency services.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said:
“We are aware of an active security situation in Bondi. We urge people in the vicinity to follow information from NSW Police.”
