Irish runner Nick Griggs has won gold at the Under 23 European Cross Country Championships in Portugal today.
The Tyrone man outlasted the field to take the win in a time of 17 minutes 47 seconds.
His training partner Callum Morgan was 8th with Niall Murphy in 10th.
It means Ireland also took home the team gold in the event.
Emma Hickey won a bronze medal in the Under 20 race this morning.
The 16 year old Wexford native finished third in a tough field on her debut at the competition.
Fellow Irish runner Anna Gardiner was sixth in the same race.
The Under 20 men’s team finished in fifth with Noah Harris of Parnell Athletic club the best placed in 10th.
Fiona Everhard finished 10th in the Women’s Race.
