Newcastle United with quadruple boost ahead of Carabao Cup quarter-finals

The Carabao Cup quarter-finals are fast approaching for Newcastle United.
In only ten days time they have the chance of progressing to a potential third semi-final in the fours seasons we have kicked off under Eddie Howe.
It is Newcastle v Fulham on Wednesday 17 December.
Interesting updates ahead of the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, affecting the availability of players.
On Saturday we at last saw Yoane Wissa on the pitch for Newcastle United, off the bench against Burnley.
This swiftly followed the news that the striker had chosen to stay with Newcastle United across December and January, rather than disappear for up to five weeks for the AFCON (African Cup of Nations).
A massive boost for United, a period of time that will include the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
However, very different news for Fulham.
When they turn up at St James’ Park in ten days time, they are set to be without three key players.
Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze are all set to be at AFCON with Nigeria and miss the quarter-final against Newcastle United.
All three are first choice for Fulham and started on Sunday in the defeat to Crystal Palace.
Sunderland of course are set to be the worst hit of all Premier League clubs, expected to lose seven players to the AFCON.
