Brentford 1-1 Leeds: Dominic Calvert-Lewin strikes late to rescue point

Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his fine scoring run to rescue a point for Leeds against Brentford at Gtech Community Stadium.
The striker netted for the fourth straight game – the first time since five for Everton in 2020 – with eight minutes left, a header from close range.
It cancelled out Jordan Henderson’s first Brentford goal with a deflected effort in the 70th minute – the England midfielder’s first Premier League goal since December 2021 for Liverpool in a Merseyside derby.
In a game of few chances, Brentford were awarded a penalty late in the first half when Dango Ouattara felt contact from Gabriel Gudmundsson, but the decision was overturned for offside after a lengthy check by the video assistant referee (VAR).
Bees goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher made three saves, but was never seriously troubled until summer signing Calvert-Lewin was afforded too much space to guide his header home.
Brentford climb up to 14th in the standings, with Leeds 17th and three points clear of the relegation zone.
