Jennifer Garner’s Childhood Kitchen is a Retro Revival

Many of us have fond memories of our childhood kitchens, but most can’t revisit them in their original state. This is different for Jennifer Garner, however, who has shown us what her family’s ’70s kitchen looked like, thanks to KitchenAid, who recreated the space from photos – unsurprisingly, it’s delightful.

The wood kitchen cabinets are warm and retro-inspired, while the grid wallpaper is an exact replica of her mother’s. There is also plenty of butter yellow, with the KitchenAid Stand Mixer (available at Williams Sonoma) infusing the space with some sunshine.

Butter yellow has been everywhere this year, and, as Jennifer proves, there is no better place for it than the kitchen.

‘This soft and inviting shade sits between a richer pastel yellow and soft cream, evoking a sense of comfort and nostalgia,’ interior designer Molly Woodward-Moor explains.

‘This shade brings warmth, nostalgia, and personality to a space and fits particularly well within aesthetics such as dopamine décor and retro interiors. Yet, its subtlety also makes it an ideal neutral for those who prefer an understated and calming interior aesthetic.’

The wood cabinets are also a versatile addition, and one that instantly warms up a space. ‘With its timeless appeal that goes beyond modern or traditional styles alone, wood evokes feelings of comfort and warmth, creating the ideal environment for those seeking an inviting space,’ Molly says. Plus, it’s already stood the test of time, as Jennifer reminds us.
