Week 15 Injury Update: Cowboys RB Javonte Williams

The Cowboys’ star running back is questionable to return to the Week 15 game against Minnesota.

The Dallas Cowboys have had an exciting start to their Week 15 contest. Beginning on defense, Donovan Wilson was able to deflect JJ McCarthy’s first pass, leading to a turnover on the Minnesota Vikings’ first possession. A fake field goal kept the Dallas drive alive, and they eventually punched it in from the one-yard line.

The short scoring run was RB Javonte Williams’ 10th touchdown of the season, as he continues to pad his career high, breaking the previous mark of four. However earlier in the drive, Williams came out for a play while shaking out his left arm.

Following the score, it’s been announced that Williams is questionable to return with a shoulder injury. Dallas isn’t very deep at running back, with Malik Davis and Hunter Luepke the only other active running backs in Week 15. The team has rookie Jaydon Blue as inactive, and signed Israel Abinikanda to the practice squad last week, but neither can play in this game.

Dallas will also use WR Kavontae Turpin out of the backfield on occasion.

Williams surpassed 1,000 yards for the season in last week’s loss to the Detroit Lions.
