Former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is closing in on a money-spinning move to Saudi Arabia alongside former Rangers chief James Bisgrove at Al-Qadisah.
The 52-year-old is travelling to the rubber-stamp a move to the Saudi Pro League who are owned by Aramco and are heading into a bumper new stadium in the summer of 2026.
Rodgers left Celtic under a cloud in October after he was slammed by minority shareholder Dermot Desmond in a scathing statement after a summer of discontent over transfers.
The Irishman, who won 11 trophies during two spells in Glasgow, will now link up with Bisgrove at Al-Qadisah who sit fifth in the Pro League and view themselves as an up-and-coming force in Saudi football.
They are located near the Bahrain border and are aiming to unseat Steven Gerrard’s former club Al-Ettifaq as the main contender in the area.
Bisgrove was tempted to Saudi and has turned to a familiar face across the city to take them into a new generation. We revealed more than one month ago Rodgers was set for the Gulf.
