Before the 2025 MLB offseason began, the free agent class was already one of the more well-rounded that it had been in recent years. However, just before everything started, the class got a little deeper, with the addition of All-Star outfielder Adolis Garcia.

Garcia was non-tendered by the Texas Rangers, in what could have been a surprise move, considering the player that he still is. However, Garcia was dangled by Texas at the trade deadline, and there were rumors that the franchise wanted to move on from the star.

Multiple teams have shown interest in adding him to the mix, and he is free to sign with any team. Garcia has been one of the more clutch players in baseball over the past few years, helping Texas win the World Series in 2023.

However, his numbers have taken a dip since 2023, as he has fallen victim to the boom-or-bust approach that the Rangers implemented across the roster. But Garcia still has some pop in his bat, and a change of scenery could be exactly what he needs to regain his All-Star form going forward.

This past season, Garcia hit .227 with 27 home runs and 75 runs batted in for Texas. Garcia has made two All-Star teams during his career, and his postseason numbers will likely help him in contract negotiations.

During the 2023 playoffs with the Rangers, Garcia hit .323 with 20 hits, eight home runs, and 22 runs batted in over 15 games. The veteran was a massive reason why Texas won the title, and he will now look to help another club out.

But where Garcia will land remains to be seen, as well as the type of deal he will get. However, Garcia could be a real steal for a team, especially since he wasn’t originally supposed to be in the free agent class this year.

Adolis Garcia Will Join the Kansas City Royals in Free Agency

As Garcia searches for his next landing spot, the Kansas City Royals could be an intriguing option. Kansas City needs help in the outfield, and adding a former All-Star to the mix could help things.

The Royals missed the playoffs this past season, but the team still has a strong core in place. Adding Garcia’s bat to the lineup could offer them more consistency, something that Kansas City lacked through the 2025 season.

Garcia knows what it takes to win a title, and he could become a veteran voice in the locker room for the young Royals team. And since Kansas City doesn’t typically spend at the top of the free agent market, Garcia could be one of the better moves for them to consider.

The Royals have reportedly wanted to add multiple outfielder pieces this winter, and Garcia could give them a boost for next year. Kansas City has the means to land him, and he could give this team a chance to get back to the postseason in 2026.
