Kobbie Mainoo’s Brother Spotted Wearing T-Shirt With 3-Word Message to Ruben Amorim

Kobbie Mainoo’s brother has gone viral on social media in the aftermath of Manchester United’s thrilling 4-4 draw against Bournemouth, with the England international’s sibling in attendance for the game.

Ruben Amorim’s side put a much-improved performance in against the Cherries and entered half-time ahead 2-1 thanks to goals from Amad Diallo and Casemiro. However, after Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier put the visitors ahead, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha strikes were needed to put the Red Devils back in front, before Junior Kroupi’s late effort ensured that the points were shared.

Mainoo once again found himself on the bench for United, with Amorim persisting with his preferred midfield pivot of Fernandes and Casemiro. His treatment has been subject to extensive media scrutiny, as he is yet to start a Premier League match in 2025/26.

Richard Keys Reveals Shock Reason Ruben Amorim Won’t Play Kobbie Mainoo at Man Utd

Richard Keys believes the real reason Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo hasn’t been playing is due to not being mobile enough.

Mainoo’s Brother Goes Viral for T-Shirt

Many supporters have called for Mainoo to get more minutes, as has Paul Scholes. And for their match against Bournemouth, his brother, Jordan, donned a t-shirt which sent a clear message to Amorim.

The top, a plain black shirt, had the words “Free Kobbie Mainoo” written in big white text which was impossible to miss. Supporters at Old Trafford took a picture of him and shared it on social media, with it going viral after the tie’s conclusion. Jordan then uploaded an image of him sporting the shirt on his Instagram account.

Although the 20-year-old did come on in the 61st minute to replace the tiring Casemiro, he has largely been reduced to a bit-part player this season. Prior to Monday night, he had managed just 197 minutes of action in the top flight, a far cry from the 19 starts and 25 total appearances which he managed in 2024/25.

Mainoo Potentially on the Move in January

Mainoo’s lack of opportunities at Old Trafford has led to speculation that he could leave the club when the January transfer window opens. Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to sign him from United, although 12 teams are reportedly in the hunt for the Carrington graduate.

However, past reports suggest that Amorim would oppose any deal to let the midfielder leave mid-season, despite heavy interest from Napoli. Any veto from the Red Devils’ boss could exacerbate any existing tensions between him and Mainoo, who will continue to be frustrated should he remain a rotational option throughout the rest of the season.

Should a viable replacement be secured, then a loan deal or permanent exit for Mainoo could be possible. If not, Amorim simply has to utilise the talented young creator more often.
