Eurostar’s “snow train” is returning to the stunning French Alps: routes, dates, and details

Will you be one of the roughly 1.5 million Brits heading to the slopes in the coming months as Europe’s glitziest ski resorts open their doors for another season? If so, how will you be arriving at your snow-capped destination?
While major UK airports benefit from plenty of air routes to some of the continent’s most popular ski resorts, plenty of travellers will be chuffing past France’s mountainscapes on a high-speed train. Earlier this year, Eurostar announced that Eurostar Snow would be returning for the 2025/26 winter season, causing hundreds of thousands of jetsetters to rethink their travel plans.

Fares start from £99 each way for the route between London St Pancras International and Bourg-Saint-Maurice, which passes through plenty of stations that grant easy access to popular resorts.
Eurostar Snow journeys require catching a train from London to the charming French city of Lille for a connection that continues towards the peaks of the French Alps. On its way to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, which acts as the gateway to resorts including Tignes and Val-d’Isère, the train stops at Chambéry, Albertville, Moûtiers, Aime-La-Plagne and Landry.

Each stop acts as a gateway to resorts via a drive that’s considerably shorter than airport transfers tend to be. Hop off at Albertville for the likes of Megève and La Giettaz, check into one of Courchevel’s fanciest hotels from Moûtiers, or see what Montchavin has to offer from Landry.
Eurostar Snow services run every weekend from Saturday 20 December 2025 to Sunday 5 April 2026, offering a more sustainable alternative to flying and a smoother travel experience for many. Eurostar Snow is also an excellent option for travellers who fret about their suitcases going missing and prefer having their ski equipment to hand throughout the journey; each passenger is entitled to two suitcases, one piece of hand luggage, plus skis or a snowboard at no extra cost.
