Shailene Woodley Wore Elie Saab & Mugler To The Red Sea International Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Shailene Woodley joined Naomie Harris on the red carpet for the Red Sea International Film Festival closing ceremony, where she ended up presenting two very different looks.

Her first look, a brown-and-white polka dot blouse paired with a sunshine-yellow silk chiffon skirt with a high slit from the Elie Saab Spring 2026 collection.

But if you head over to Getty, you’ll notice something odd: only two usable photos exist. One from the back. One from the side. No full-length moment, no carpet-front shot — nothing.

Then the story takes a turn. Cut to inside the venue, and Shailene is wearing something entirely different: a black fringed coat dress from Mugler Spring 2026, which — plot twist — she’d already worn the day before for a portrait session.

I’m putting two and two together here, but it feels likely that the Elie Saab look was deemed a little too sheer, a little too plunging, a little too leg-forward for this particular carpet and ceremony, where she was onstage presenting. If that was the case, it’s a surprising misstep for her stylist, and more to the point, Elie Saab, a designer who understands how to dress women respectfully and elegantly within the cultural expectations of the region.

And suddenly, Naomie Harris’ more restrained approach throughout the festival makes so much more sense.
