Prashant Veer IPL Auction price: Uttar Pradesh’s Prashant Veer on Tuesday (December 16) became the most expensive uncapped player in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. The all-rounder came in at the base price of Rs. 30 lakhs and was signed by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a whopping Rs. 14.20 crore.
A middle-order big-hitter, Prashant has played nine official T20s, scoring 112 runs at a strike-rate of 167.16. He also bowls left-arm spin, and already has 12 wickets to his name at an average of 16.66 so far in his T20 career.
The 20-year-old was spotted in the UP T20 League and reportedly attended Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’s trials. The franchise seems to consider him a successor for Ravindra Jadeja, who they traded to the Rajasthan Royals before the IPL 2026 auction, after almost a decade at the franchise.
In 2025, Prashant was named the Emerging Player of the Season in the UP T20 League. He scored 320 runs in ten innings for Noida Super Kings, averaging 64 with a strike rate of over 155. He also picked up eight wickets in as many innings at an average of 21.75 with a stunning economy rate of 6.69.

Nicknamed ‘Miller’, after David Miller, by one of his coaches early in his career, Prashant is a big fan of Yuvraj Singh. He also loves the Chennai Super Kings and had spoken about wanting to play for the team.
“I would absolutely love to play for Chennai Super Kings because it’s my dream to spend at least one season with MS Dhoni. I would get to learn a lot from him, especially his calmness, since he also bats in the lower order, just like I do. There’s so much I could learn from him. If I get an opportunity to play for any team, CSK would be my preferred choice,” he told Cricket 900.
