Susie Wiles blasts Vanity Fair’s ‘hit piece’ amid Trump’s team’s united defense

WASHINGTON (TNND) — White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is slamming the two part Vanity-Fair profile of her, accusing reporter Chris Whipple of writing a “disingenuously framed hit piece” on her, President Donald Trump and other members of his administration.
In the profile, Wiles described that Trump had “an alcoholic’s personality,” that Russell Vought, head of the Office of Management and Budget was a “right-wing absolute zealot,” that Vice President JD Vance has been a decade-long “conspiracy theorist” and that Attorney General Pam Bondi “whiffed” on realizing how important the release of the Epstein files was for Trump’s base.
“Significant context was disregarded and much of what I, and others, said about the team and the President was left out of the story,” Wiles wrote on X.
“I assume, after reading it, that this was done to paint an overwhelmingly chaotic and negative narrative about the President and our team.”
Wiles also raised concerns over some of Trump’s decisions such as dismantling USAID and pardoning all 1,600 convicted in the January 6 riot, including those charged with violent crimes. However, Wiles defended many of Trump’s policy decisions such as the United States military strikes in Venezuela, and its immigration crackdown.
“The truth is the Trump White House has already accomplished more in eleven months than any other President has accomplished in eight years and that is due to the unmatched leadership and vision of President Trump, for whom I have been honored to work for the better part of a decade,” Wiles wrote.
“None of this will stop our relentless pursuit of Making America Great Again!”
Close to a dozen members of the Trump administration have publicly rallied behind Wiles in the wake of the article’s publication.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared on X that Wiles has been pivotal to Trump’s “ most successful first 11 months in office of any President in American history.
“President Trump has no greater or more loyal advisor than Susie,” Leavitt wrote. “The entire Administration is grateful for her steady leadership and united fully behind her.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi, who Wiles criticized for her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, said Wiles “fights every day to advance President Trump’s agenda – and she does so with grace, loyalty, and historic effectiveness.”
“Any attempt to divide this administration will fail,” Bondi wrote. “Any attempt to undermine and downplay President Trump’s monumental achievements will fail.”
Russ Vought, who Wiles called a ‘zealot” called Wiles “an exceptional chief of staff.”
“I have had the privilege of working in President Trump’s White House for every single minute of his two terms. Let me be very clear: It has never worked this well or been more oriented towards accomplishing what he wants to accomplish,” Vought wrote. “In my portfolio, she is always an ally in helping me deliver for the president. And this hit piece will not slow us down.”
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Homeland Kristi Noem, Secretary of Interior Doug Burgam, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, Environmental Protection Agency Lee Zeldin, and FBI Director Kash Patel have all written messages of support to Wiles on social media.
