Adelaide weather forecast for Monday December 15 and the days ahead

South Australians can expect a sunny and increasingly warm lead-up to the weekend, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting rising temperatures across Adelaide and much of the state over the coming days.
In Adelaide, Monday is set to begin with cloud gradually clearing, making way for a mostly sunny afternoon and a top of 24 degrees. Light southerly winds are expected to shift southeasterly during the morning, strengthening to between 20 and 30 kilometres per hour as the day progresses.
Temperatures are forecast to climb steadily as the week continues. Tuesday will bring classic summer conditions, with sunny skies and a temperature range from a cool overnight minimum of 12 degrees to a warm daytime high of 29 degrees. Wednesday is expected to turn up the heat further, starting with a minimum of 18 degrees before reaching a hot 34 degrees under clear skies.
The warmest day of the week is shaping up to be Thursday, with temperatures in Adelaide forecast to peak at around 38 degrees following a notably warm overnight minimum of 21 degrees. Conditions are expected to remain sunny, reinforcing the need for residents to stay hydrated and take precautions during the hottest parts of the day.
Beyond the city, much of South Australia will experience dry and settled weather, with temperatures sitting near to slightly above average for this time of year. While most regions will remain rain-free, isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop in the far northeast by Wednesday. These conditions may spread into parts of the Flinders Ranges and Mid North districts by Thursday.
The far southeast of the state may see the chance of a light shower on Monday, but rainfall elsewhere is expected to be minimal as high-pressure systems continue to dominate weather patterns across the region.
Coastal communities and those planning time on the water are being urged to take note of marine warnings currently in place. A strong wind warning has been issued for the Spencer Gulf today, with gusty conditions likely to create challenging conditions for mariners. Those heading offshore or planning coastal activities are advised to exercise caution and stay up to date with the latest marine forecasts.
With sunshine set to dominate and temperatures on the rise, the week ahead offers classic summer conditions for South Australia, particularly as the state heads toward a hot finish before the weekend.
