Thousands without power across Washington

Rough winds are forecast for Tuesday night, with Governor Bob Ferguson reporting gusts could reach 60 mph.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a wind advisory for western Washington from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.
“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may result,” NWS stated.
High winds could lead to power outages across the state, and as of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, 5,481 people are without power in Washington, according to poweroutage.com.
Thousands without power in Pierce County
There are 2,721 people without power in Pierce County.
Kent, Auburn, and Lake Tapps areas are seeing the majority of those outages, with the cause attributed to equipment failure, as reported by Puget Sound Energy.
Kitsap County sees spike in power outages
There are also outages scattered throughout Kitsap County.
According to poweroutage.com, 1,153 people are without power.
Crews fix outages in North Seattle
In Seattle, outages have gone from nearly 2,000 customers without power to only 28 customers, as shown on Seattle City Light’s outage map. Officials said the outages were due to equipment failure.
