A Loose Women panellist delivered unfortunate news on Wednesday (December 17) following her husband’s emergency hospital dash.

The latest instalment of the well-loved ITV programme was fronted by Kaye Adams, alongside fellow panellists Mariella Frostrup, Olivia Attwood Dack and Nadia Sawalha, as they tackled the day’s biggest talking points.

During a conversation about Christmas preparations, Mariella disclosed that her festive arrangements had been thrown into disarray after her husband recently tumbled from a ladder and fractured his arm.

“My husband, who’s really the most festive one of all of us. He gets really excited by Christmas, it’s really annoying,” she joked.

“He was up the ladder stringing festive lights in the garden. He fell off the ladder and broke his right arm. So, spent hours and hours in A&E.”, reports the Express.

“Yes, I felt very sorry for him, but at the same time, I felt sorry for me because I realised we’ve got 14 people coming for Christmas, including kids. He’s right handed, it was his right arm. And so, guess who is now doing everything? !”.

Mariella then quipped that she suspected her husband had sustained the injury on purpose, remarking: “I actually think it’s justified at this point in the year.

“I’m not inciting you to do this because obviously it’s dangerous, but I’m surprised that more women, in particular, aren’t throwing themselves off ladders just to end the frenzy. There’s so much, it’s too much.”

Kaye then questioned: “But is that not your choice?”.

Mariella responded: “You don’t get to choose whether it’s Christmas or not!” Mariella first tied the knot with Richard Jobson, frontman of punk rock band Skids. After her initial marriage ended in 1984, she crossed paths with human rights lawyer Jason McCue at the age of 39, and they wed two years later.

In other news from today’s Loose Women, the panel chatted with Gladiators star Matt Morsia, also known as Legend, in anticipation of the show’s Christmas special set to air on Christmas Day.

The festive episode will feature Joe Wicks, Sam Thompson, Nicola Adams, and Vogue Williams taking on classic challenges such as Duel, The Wall, and The Eliminator, while hosts Bradley and Barney Walsh cheer them on.

Loose Women broadcasts weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 12.30pm
