What You Need to Know: With Covered California enrollment continuing to grow and key federal subsidies set to expire at the end of 2025, physician practices need to be prepared for potential changes in 2026. CMA has released a new tip sheet to help practices understand their participation status, available products, and what to expect in the year ahead.

In 2025, California’s health benefit exchange Covered California saw its fourth consecutive year of increased enrollment, with nearly 2 million individuals enrolled in qualified health plans. With the future of the Enhanced Premium Tax Credits still uncertain as we approach the end of 2025, it remains critical that physician practices understand their participation status, which products are being offered in the geographic area and what changes to expect in 2026.

To help physician practices understand their participation status, which products are being offered and what changes to expect, the California Medical Association has published a new tip sheet, “Navigating Covered California: Preparing for Changes in 2026.” The tip sheet is available free to members.
