I’m sure there will be some fallout from the operator error that led Alex Carey not being given out yesterday. Everyone accepts that umpires make mistakes on the field but it’s a bit harder to swallow when technology designed to eliminate errors actually exacerbates them. It’s probably moot, but you’d think England should at least get their review back this morning.
On TMS this morning Jonathan Agnew said that Ranjan Madugalle, the referee for the opening two Tests, had said that the officials were worried about the accuracy of Snicko, Cricket Australia’s and the host broadcasters’ preferred and more economical system.
