New Reverend takes over 10 Rutland parishes in Rutland after 17-month wait

Ten parishes around the southern and eastern side of Rutland Water have been without an incumbent for 17 months.
However, a new benefice has now taken up the role.
Reverend Peter Collins was warmly welcomed at St Peter’s Church in Empingham on Wednesday 10 December by Bishop Debbie of Peterborough, Rural Dean Jane Baxter, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland Jeannette Warner and the church wardens of the benefice.

For the last 11 years, Rev Collins has served has rector of the Hykeham Benefice in Lincoln.
He has recently moved to Rutland with his wife Sally and their dog Lady.
Speaking about the move, he said they ‘look forward to returning to rural ministry in the beautiful Rutland Water Benefice.
