Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Headline 2025 NBA Cup All-Tournament Team

The NBA announced Thursday the All-Tournament team for the 2025 NBA Cup.

The champion New York Knicks had two representatives: guard Jalen Brunson and center Karl-Anthony Towns. The Los Angeles Lakers’ Luka Dončić, San Antonio Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander rounded out the squad.

Brunson was a unanimous choice and listed on the ballots of all 20 voters. The media panel included Gilgeous-Alexander on 18 ballots. The Orlando Magic’s Desmond Bane (eight votes) and New York’s OG Anunoby (seven votes) were the first two players on the outside looking in.

Brunson averaged 33.2 points and 5.8 assists during New York’s run. In the 124-113 victory over the Spurs in the final, he filled out the stat sheet with 25 points, four rebounds, eight assists and one block.

Towns chipped in with a double-double (16 points and 11 boards) against San Antonio in Las Vegas.

Dončić garnered only 11 votes despite averaging 36.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 10.0 assists during the Lakers’ Cup games. Los Angeles got bounced by the Spurs in the quarterfinals, which may have hurt Luka’s All-Tournament case in the eyes of some voters.

Gilgeous-Alexander also eclipsed 30-points per contest (32.5) while shooting 59.5 percent from the floor. His 29 points, four rebounds and five assists still weren’t enough for Oklahoma City in the semifinals, though.

Some will likely see Victor Wembanyama as a big omission. Fox led the Spurs in scoring (22.3 points) across six games, but Wembanyama had a nearly identical scoring average (22.0 points) while also putting up 8.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.3 blocks in fewer minutes.
