Metro Detroit Forecast: As temps tumble, roads could be slick
Today will be sharply colder again. Temps will stay stuck in the 20s with breezy to gusty winds making it feel like 5° to 15°.
The weekend across Metro Detroit settles into a cooler, more seasonable pattern. Saturday looks mostly cloudy and dry, with temperatures backing down into the 30s, giving it that classic December feel. Any lingering dampness from late week should dry out, making it a decent day to get out and about—just plan on layers. There is a slight chance of a few flakes after sunset as another cold front crosses over the area. Sunday stays quiet as well, with clouds mixing with a few breaks of sun at times and temperatures on the chilly side thanks to Saturday’s cold front. Overnight lows dip into the 20s both nights, so it’ll feel crisp early and late, but overall the weekend stays calm with no major weather issues to disrupt plans.
Looking ahead to next week, temperatures look to be a little warmer than normal giving us some more melting. Christmas is a week away, but it looks like it will be mostly cloudy with a high in the mid to upper 40s and a slight rain chance.
