Pedestrian hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after crash on Monroe St.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A pedestrian was taken to Toledo Hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash on Monroe Street near Cheltenham.

According to a press release from the Toledo Police Department, a 66-year-old man was attempting to cross Monroe Street around 5:40 p.m. Thursday when he was hit by a car driving east on Monroe.

The 66-year-old was taken to Toledo Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver was uninjured in the crash.

According to the release, the pedestrian was thrown several feet after the crash and came to a rest in the center turn lane of Monroe Street.

The crash is under investigation.
