Major retailer confirms big change to famous Boxing Day sale

Next plans to launch its famous Boxing Day sale on its website on Christmas Eve. Considered one of the country’s biggest post-Christmas retail events, Next staff used to see shoppers queuing up from the early hours to snap up bargains on Boxing Day. But the company changed its sale opening date in 2021.
The retail giant now closes its shops on December 26 and reopens them at 6am the following day. Next has been known to slash prices by as much as 70% for its sale, according to The Sun. Items included in the sale vary depending on the shop, but anyone who wants to grab a bargain sooner can use a VIP code if they have a nextpay credit account.
In last year’s sale, Next offered discounts of up to 50% on a range of items from its fashion, beauty, electricals and homeware lines.
