Presenter Kate Scott has built up an impressive fortune from her impressive career. Though she recently had a tense encounter with colleague Jamie Carragher.

The 44-year-old has worked for major networks like Sky Sports and Fox, but is now primarily a presenter for CBS Sports. She will be in the spotlight in Miami on Friday as Jake Paul squares off against two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in a blockbuster bout streamed live on Netflix.

Scott will head a team of presenters, including former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, Muhammad Ali’s daughter Laila Ali and David Haye. She is typically seen leading CBS’ Champions League coverage alongside ex-Liverpool star Carragher, with whom she had a chilly exchange in March 2024.

What is Kate Scott’s net worth?

With approximately two decades in presenting, Scott has accumulated a substantial fortune, with her estimated net worth standing at a remarkable £2million.

She launched her career in Germany with Deutsche Welle, the country’s international broadcaster, and quickly caught the attention of CNN, where she anchored its World Sports broadcast.

From there, she transitioned to Sky Sports Germany and soon after joined Fox, becoming a full-time presenter following the 2015 Women’s World Cup, covering the Champions League and Europa League in the US.

After Fox lost the rights to the competition, she moved to TNT and then onto CBS where she has earned acclaim for her European football presenting alongside Carragher, Thierry Henry, and Micah Richards.

Who is Kate Scott married to?

Scott encountered her future husband, Malik, at a boxing event in 2021. The former heavyweight boxer developed a relationship with Scott after they became acquainted during his gym training sessions.

The couple exchanged vows last year in an extravagant ceremony held in California, complete with an elaborate cake featuring both Scott and Malik positioned within a boxing ring.

Following her marriage, Scott adopted Malik’s surname, having previously been known professionally as Kate Abdo. She had taken the Abdo name from her first husband, Ramtin Abdo, to whom she was wed from 2010 to 2016.

When did Jamie Carragher clash with her husband?

Scott’s journey on CBS hasn’t been without its bumps and in 2024 an ill-judged quip left audiences feeling uneasy. The episode occurred in March of that year, during Arsenal’s Champions League encounter with Porto.

Lead presenter Scott, Richards, Henry and Carragher were analysing the match as a panel, when former Manchester City defender Richards put on an Arsenal shirt. He then encouraged Carragher to follow suit, but Carragher suggested Scott should be the one to wear it.

However, as a Manchester United supporter, she declined, stating: “No, I’m loyal. I’m loyal.” Carragher then enquired: “To who?” prompting Scott to respond: “Manchester United, thank you very much.”

The playful banter took a sharp turn when Carragher made a comment about her loyalty to Malik. Kate appeared stunned by the remark and responded: “What? Why would you even say that?”

The exchange between Scott and Carragher became an internet sensation and even led Malik to caution Carragher that he might have to “show up in a physical manner.” By the following programme, though, the atmosphere had calmed and the quartet returned to their characteristic comedic approach.
