What’s the weather forecast for the Packers-Bears game in Chicago?

5 Questions with LeRoy Butler: How will Packers survive Micah Parsons loss

LeRoy Butler considers what the loss of Micah Parsons means for various players on defense, including Rashan Gary.

The weather at Soldier Field in Chicago is expected to be fairly mild, by winter standards, for the Green Bay Packers’ game against the Chicago Bears on Saturday night, Dec. 20.

For the kickoff at 7:20 p.m., the temperature will be around 35 degrees, said Kevin Doom, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Chicago. However, wind chills will make that feel colder, with a “real feel” temperature in the mid-20s, he said.

“It looks like there will be a decent breeze blowing offshore,” Doom said.

By the game’s end, the actual temperature will likely be right around freezing, with a “real feel” in the low 20s, he said — so fans will still want to bundle up.

No significant precipitation is expected in the Chicago area. Some light freezing rain or snow may fall in southern Wisconsin during the day Dec. 20, but will likely have little accumulation.

Still, drivers are warned to block out extra travel time on the roads in southern Wisconsin, due to the possibility of a light dusting of snow or light ice on untreated surfaces, said Andrew Quigley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan.

For Packers fans staying the night in Chicago, the weather should stay dry Sunday, Dec. 21 – although colder, with a morning high of around 28 degrees, Doom said.
